Gore A&P Show

The Gore A&P Show is held on the first Saturday of February each year, with our next show scheduled for 1 February, 2025.

We are proud to be one of the largest traditional one-day A&P shows in the South Island.

Set in the picturesque Gore A & P Showgrounds, the Gore A&P Show day is packed with a diverse range of activities, trade stalls and livestock. Being one of the largest one-day shows in New Zealand there is so much to see and do. Imagine watching majestic horses or the axe men power through their work, while kids eat delicious treats and search for treasure.

A great day for kids!

Children will enjoy activities like the Big Dig and Where’s the Sheep? Along with traditional attractions like the carnival area and farm yard, there are all sorts of animals to see, making it a wonderful day out for the whole family.

Award winning livestock

Our Livestock sections are well supported from breeders around the southern region. We have the second largest sheep section in the country, with strong cattle entries in both beef and dairy, and dairy goats.

For Horse Lovers

A variety of horse breeds attend the show to compete in the competitions. It is nice to sit and relax for a while, watching these beautiful animals, their riders and handlers as they team up and show off their abilities, while competitors get the opportunity to test their skills against each other as they compete for the coveted prizes.

The Market Tent

If you are a keen floral artist, gardener, baker or photographer the extensive home industry’s sections are for you. We have all kinds of delicious food stalls and in the new market tent we will be displaying the wonderful fresh produce, arts and crafts produced in our diverse region.

Listen, Feast, Relax

Live music displays play throughout the day, so why not spend some time listening to talented local artists, grab a bite to eat and enjoy a fun relaxed A&P atmosphere. Along with this cool setting we have all the traditional trades, stalls and sites you would expect to see.
